Terms of Use

Educational purpose

Better Hacker is a beginner educational prototype. Its lessons, simulated exercises, investigations, Topic Guide, and Course Review provide general learning material, not professional, legal, certification, employment, or security advice.

Authorized and responsible use

Use cybersecurity concepts only on systems you own or have explicit permission to test. Do not use this site’s material to access, disrupt, damage, or investigate systems without authorization. You are responsible for following applicable laws, policies, and agreed testing scopes.

Simulated Attack Box

The Attack Box is a safe command simulation using fixed fictional data. It is not a real operating system or shell, cannot execute arbitrary commands, and does not contact external targets. Do not treat its output as evidence from a real system.

No accounts or certification

The current prototype has no learner accounts, cloud progress sync, formal grading service, or certification. Browser-based progress, XP, levels, streaks, achievements, skill badges, and Course Review results are educational learning aids—not accredited credentials—and can be changed or removed through browser controls.

Availability and accuracy

The prototype is provided as available and may change. We aim for useful beginner material but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every explanation fits every environment.

Third-party service

The optional waitlist uses Formspree to process email submissions. Your use of that service may also be subject to its terms and privacy practices.

Pricing and subscriptions

The site displays planned Free, monthly, and annual plans for transparency. Paid checkout is not configured, so no paid subscription is offered or started from this page. If paid subscriptions launch, the checkout page will state the plan, price, billing frequency, renewal and cancellation terms before purchase. The hosted payment provider’s terms will also apply to payment processing.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, submit harmful content, or falsely represent locally stored progress as an independent credential.
